La Plata, Argentina, is a planned city. With a view from above, this fact could not be more apparent; its strict grid pattern creates a symmetry rarely seen in urban areas. At the 1889 World’s Fair in Paris, the new city was awarded two gold medals for the “City of the Future” and “Better performance built”.
